LAKHANPUR CAMPUS
Healthcare professionals are important for holistic healthcare. Realizing the need to have
professionals in this field, Rama Group of Institutions started its Lakhanpur Campus with the
foundation of a 400 bedded hospital along with a Dental College. Initially courses like BDS and
Diploma were offered. Later, in 2004, the Master’s program in Dental Surgery (MDS) was started
True to expectations, when our students started graduating, they were quickly absorbed in hospitals
and other centers which valued their worth. That was when the great potential for employment in
corporate hospitals, rehabilitation centers, polyclinics, industries, training institutions in India and
abroad, apart from the option of private practice, came to be known.
Keeping in view the ambience needed for a learning centre, the college is situated far away from the hustle and bustle of the City, but is well connected as it lies on the G.T. Road. It is surrounded by many prestigious Institutions like the Kanpur University (which lies just across the road), the IIT-Kanpur (just 3 K.M. away), National Sugar Institute, Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Chandra Shekhar Azad Agricultural University, GSVM Medical College & Hospital and a lot of Science and Arts Colleges. The area is surrounded by many schools some of which are of national repute.
The Society has also established and has been running a 400 bedded general hospital with all
facilities and well equipped with most modern sophisticated medical equipments, in the dental
college premises.
The dental college is nestled within one of the largest infrastructure in the area. It is equipped with
over 350 dental chair units and a plethora of equipments and caters to every mode of treatment
conceivable that the patient may require.
The complex is surrounded by a lush green well-manicured lawn, with a variety of flowering plants.
It is a feast to the eyes and breath of fresh air to our clinicians, patients and student. Cleanliness is
given great priority.
The College Campus has 24 hours canteen, ISD/STD Booths, ISDN Internet facilities. The students enjoy facilities without having to leave the secure and serene environment of the Institution. Speaking of security, our security personnel have been engaged with 20 man barrack situated strategically between the hospital and hostel. Of course, the whole premises remains fully lit up throughout the night with the help of back-up generators. Vehicles of staff and students are provided secure parking space within the premises of the Institution.
The College and
Hospital departments have computerized facilities for record keeping.
The Boys and Girls have separate Hostels. The hostels are actually a home away from home. Spacious and comfortable, the 2 mammoth structures are surrounded by greenery. At any given time they are equipped to accommodate 200 students, providing 24 hours in-house power back-up, mess and laundry.
FACILITIES
The infrastructure facilities at the Lakhanpur Campus are comparable with best standards and both
students, doctors, teachers and staff of Hospital and institute in campus make full utilization of the
common infrastructural facilities provided.
1. Teaching Staff
The faculty consists of a galaxy of dedicated, experienced and highly qualified teachers as per the norms of Dental council of India who are competent and capable enough to maintain proper educational standards and to instill the right kind of spirit among the future dentists.
2. Laboratory Facilities
The Hospital of the Society has been provided with the latest diagnostic and clinical equipments and materials in different labs for the benefit of the students and researches.
3. Library Facilities
The College is well equipped with the latest Dental and Medical Subject-wise text books, reference books, periodicals, Indian and International subject-wise dental journals, in addition to the audio-visual aids.
4. Sports Facilities
A number of facilities are available for different sports disciplines. Playgrounds for cricket, hockey and football, courts for tennis, basketball, badminton and volleyball, a gym and an athletics track are all present for the students to pick and choose from.
5. Recreational Facilities
Students can join clubs for music and fine arts, literature and debating and photography. Mandhana Campus also stages an annual festival, Virasat, presenting luminaries of Indian dance and music. The students are also encouraged to take part in inter-college, inter-university and national-level competitions.
6. Specialities
On the academic side, a unique advantage for the students in Lakhanpur campus is that they have exposure to clinical studies in four different group hospitals which also help students get over local and regional difficulties by arranging classes where they get a working knowledge of local languages and expressions which helps them during their clinical studies.
